About DECON

The origin of the company was a small unit established in October 1969, in the garage of the entrepreneur Livinder Singh on his return from Europe after completing his Engineering from the University of Glascow & Strathclyde and obtaining rich work experience in project management, engineering design and architecture.

Decon's first product was a low voltage system for product spot lighting and illumination was indigenously designed and patented. This fixture was a commercial success and earned accolades from many clients.

This success resulted in appointment of Livinder Singh as a director of the newly formed Rotaflex India by the parent company Rotaflex Lighting (subsequently Concord Lighting, UK).

Decon Lighting was established in Delhi in 1972. The first Asian trade fair in October 1972 launched the company as a serious participant in this nascent field dominated by giant multinationals.

Company Development

Decon was soon manufacturing international quality products and exporting large quantities to Australia. This led to an interest from Sweden's largest lighting manufacturer Fagerhults and allowed them to manufacture their latest fluorescent system - Trim tube, in India. Very soon, Trim Tube manufactured by Decon was marketed by 'Philips' under their own brand.

Decon soon enlarged it's manufacturing base to supply the sales network of distributors all over India.  The experience of a dedicated service to designers and architects gave Decon designs for a unique range of special fixtures. The products continue to be specified in most projects.

Dealer Network

Decon products are now specified by most Government Organizations, Hotels and direct buyers all over India. A network of nearly 50 dealers and representative offices across the country, ensure service and advise for the best lighting solution.

Global Warming and Energy Saving

In the new millennium there is a demand for the latest available technology to reduce carbon emissions in all forms. By manufacturing energy saving products under strict pollution control environment, Decon is making a contribution to the national and global effort.

Using, Solar and Wind Energy for illumination is the trend for our development efforts. We have developed contemporary lighting products for designed interiors and exteriors which are now specified by most international designers.
